Mr. Charles M. LaFollette, also known as Mac, is the founder of the GC Companies (‘GCC’) which makes control-based private equity investments on behalf of a growing number of ultra-high net worth families and large endowments/foundations.

Since its inception, GCC has made seven platform investments in a broad range of industries and with operations in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. More recently, GCC has concentrated its efforts on investments in the government contracting space. GCC owns 99+% (and Mac is the Chairman) of Valiant Integrated Services (https://www.onevaliant.com); a $725+M in sales defense services contractor based in Herndon, Virginia that provides services to the U.S. Department of Defense, the Defense Logistics Agency, INSCOM, and other agencies within the defense complex. Mac founded Valiant with management in 2017.

GCC owns 85% (and Mac is the Chairman) of AVANTech (https://avantechllc.com), a leading provider of nuclear wastewater remediation services to the U.S. Department of Energy and nuclear power facilities in the U.S. and overseas.

Mac lives in New York City with his wife and two sons. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
